What Kind of Healthcare Programs does the State Provide?
Vermont provides a wide range of coverage through its Green Mountain Care program. They include:
- Catamount Health provides uninsured Vermonters health insurance at a reasonable cost.
- Dr. Dynasaur for children under 18 and pregnant women.
- Vermont Health Access Plan (VHAP) for Vermonters over 18 who are not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare.
- Medicaid is a health insurance program for low income Vermonters who are 65 years of age or older, legally blind or have a disability, children, pregnant women, and parents of children under 18.

I'm Over 65. Can I Get Healthcare?
Yes. Medicare is a federal health insurance program administered by the Social Security Administration. It is for adults over 65, people with disabilities who receive Social Security Disability (SSDI) benefits, and people with end-stage renal disease (permanent kidney failure).
